Welcome to Salterns Boats Ltd

Welcome to the Salterns Boats website, builders of the Memory, Tela and Wagtail traditional gaff rigged boats. Each boat has a true working boat pedigree, designed to be efficient, practical and, with 'form following function', very beautiful.

We deliberately use a mix of new and old; GRP hulls and decks for ease of maintenance; craftsmen built wooden fit outs using traditional techniques for longevity and beauty.

We have tried to give a flavour of our range and ethos on this website, however nothing quite compares to seeing the boats afloat, and this can easily be arranged by appointment in our Oxfordshire works or Hamble River Yard. So whether you're after the pedigree of the Memory, the lure of the Tela, or simple fun of the Wagtail, we hope to have a traditional gaffer to suit every requirement.
